Indeed - it may be an "inconvenience" to them but to me as a poor pensioner it's an expensive pile of sh*te.

My turn to join the disappointed list and kick myself for not reading up first. Thought i'd seen the 2927 finally got its mesh capabilities... which i guess it has. just not in a very useful way.

Now my nice new 2927ax has the old 2862ac sitting beside it being the wired Mesh Root! The 2927ax doesn't like my 903 mesh nodes. ffs

There's a new AP announced (AP906). I wonder if its a better device?

By "better" do you mean will it make even more money for Draytek?

£200 to £300 for a 906 from the few places that have them right now. not rushing to get one, never mind two! 903 do well enough. i suspect i'll end up with a 903 as my mesh root and run the 2927ax with the same wifi details but not meshed. sort of annoying but might just about do

That's what I do - 3 x AP960c with one of them as the mesh root wired to the 2927ax, which has the same wifi settings. Not sure what is going to happen when POTS is turned off - Openreach currently "have no plans" to run fibre to the single pole in our little cul-de-sac, even though the roads 50m either side have full fibre. Whatever kit I have to change to then is unlikely to be Draytek after the contempt they have shown for their loyal customers.
