2860 spurious retranmission errors FTTC VDSL

So, I am seeing NE CRC errors, over 1000 of them in the last two hours... when the engineer had the test tool on, there were none.

Is this indicative of the problem mentioned?

That would suggest your line is being affected by noise/interference.

Interesting...

The CRC rate continues to increase, though the engineer said the line was clear, and he had it running for a while... (no CRC's when viewed on the test kit...)

Interestingly I have a faster rate than attainable downstream rate!

Interesting that your SNR doesn't change with these drops.

You could try the Vigor 2860 Series Non-Vector Firmware 3.8.4.6 firmware , see if that helps.

I run a Vigor 130 modem , I find the "BT" firmware to be unstable. My ISP is UNO, We are provided with a superb user console which details our connection stats, usage, sessions etc.
Using the BT firmware I see sessions drop many times per day with the annotation " Port Error" . If I use the alternative firmware now listed by Draytek I see no session drops or Port errors at all. My modem has been connected for 10 days . As you note, the attainable speed is shown lower than actual speed. Again , as soon as I changed to the non BT firmware this anomaly stopped.

i have my connection sorted now, it was a configuration error in the exchange, just wondering if it got anything to do with BT infinity 1 now getting 80/20 speed for free if there line can cope with it .
