Just upgraded 1 2820 to 3.3.3, lasted 10 mins before i had to downgrade back to 3.3.2.1 as trying to create objects in the IP list generates errors and it took me 10 mins just to enter 2 IP objects, not impressed

After posting I noticed that the engineer who'd upgraded the cable broadband had placed the modem on top of the draytek which was rather warm.
No problems since moving it.

Mine's in an aircon room at 20C so thermal issues not the problem in my case.

Could be RF interference between the units for you?

My 2 routers have now been running for 100+ hours without incident and since I switched to 802.11g only mode the web admin page access problem as gone away. Here is a list of the features which I have setup on my routers (i.e not default).

Both use 1 ADSL line (not WAN2 or 3G)
Both have a USB memory stick with syslog logging to them.
Syslog enabled (all apart from user access log)
Both are setup for 802.11g only (one on channel 2 one on channel 6)
I use MAC address reservation/binding for all clients.
I use WPA/WPA2 encryption.
I have a DMZ setup (for a XBOX)
I have a VPN (lan to lan) define - but disabled.
I have a single dial in PPTP VPN user account enabled on each.
uPnP is enabled
Both 2820n's are very close to each other (approx 1 metre) and I have been pleasantly surprised that they don't interfere.
I have replaced the ADSL cable with one of the belkin shielded ones.
I live 5k from the BT exchange so I can only get 1.5 to 2mb download and my line stats vary beween 6 - 12 snr with an attenuation of 58 ish.
I previously used firmware 3.3.1.2 which was the most stable for me and upgraded using the version of the firmware which let me retain the settings.

I have had problems with settings getting messed up between firmware changes - especially downgrades and have created a script which sets up most of the tedious stuff via telnet. I run this after restoring to factory settings. Didn't need to do that this time however.

I am NOT using :-

Load Balancing Dual Wan etc
Wired connections
Content Filtering
USB as a NAS
Constant VPN Lan to LAN

If anyone who is experiencing problems has anything different to this then lets see if there is a common pattern.

Dave

My setup is similar to the last poster. The system seems relatively stable on 3.3.3 although locked up and required a restart after running QoS for approximately 24 hours. Removed QoS and it now (touch wood) appears to be stable.

Updated to 3.3.3 on plain 2820 - uptime of 100+ hours and 80+ hours
no problems encountered.

12 IPSec LAN - LAN running
various port redirections

assorted URL/Port filters

This is the most stable the router has been for ages.!
