Just to play devil's advocate, I too have a 2860 n+ on Zen vdsl but have been plagued with random disconnects with the 3.8.4.x.BT firmware series. The log file shows the same problem each time, e.g. (IP address removed for privacy):

<174>Dec 30 09:37:04 2860n-plus: ADSL_Status:[Mode=17A States=SHOWTIME UpSpeed=8303000 DownSpeed=39998000 SNR=11 Atten=23 ]
<158>Dec 30 09:37:21 2860n-plus: PPP Closed : Remote Terminating (PPPoE)
<174>Dec 30 09:39:33 2860n-plus: ADSL_Status:[Mode=17A States=SHOWTIME UpSpeed=8089000 DownSpeed=39998000 SNR=11 Atten=23 ]
<158>Dec 30 09:39:52 2860n-plus: PPP Start (PPPoE)
<158>Dec 30 09:39:52 2860n-plus: CHAP Login OK (PPPoE)
<158>Dec 30 09:39:52 2860n-plus: IPCP Opening (PPPoE); Own IP Address : nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn Peer IP Address : nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn; Primary DNS : 212.23.6.100 Secondary DNS : 212.23.3.100
<174>Dec 30 09:40:01 2860n-plus: ADSL_Status:[Mode=17A States=SHOWTIME UpSpeed=8089000 DownSpeed=39998000 SNR=11 Atten=23 ]

I did not have these problems with 3.8.2 firmware.
So a question for Draytek (or others more knowledgeable than I !) - should I revert or try one of the other 3.8.4.2 versions ???

Having thought my 2860 was OK after downgrading, came home from a day away to find ADSL up, but no internet at all. Rebooting did not help. Could not ping out, VPNs would not connect, nothing.
Swapped it out for an old TPLINK router I had and came up fine.
So this firmware appears to have royally broken my 2860.
Not very impressed that Draytek release this and then go on holiday, no response in this forum to this serious issue.

Just to add I'm in the same boat as everyone else here.

Wired connections seem completely broken and now the wireless connections are intermittent. Going to go back to the BT Home Hub.

Strange that we seem to have such disparate experiences with the same hardware/firmware. I don't have any DOS options enabled, could that be a difference?

As another devil's advocate, as I understand it this is not a Draytek support site, it's a user forum. If you want Draytek to respond/help then raise a ticket with them on their own site. I've found them quite helpful in the past.

You'd get that for the reasons the ygive, as if your VLAN/VPI/VCI settings are wrong - it's not at the IP layer, so something more fundamental. Is your device a UK product - check the box if you still have it, or here: http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/serial-checker

I found this solved any browsing problems with wired connections.

From Release Notes;
2. On VDSL, if experiencing delays in web browsing then disable H/W Acceleration via [Hardware Acceleration] > [Setup]. This will not impact the throughput performance.

Hope this helps
