3910 has all the backup features you're saying that are missing. I back up before any firmer upgrade now just in case new bugs are introduced.
Noticed they have finally introduced usb features.
Question is do they make it more stable first before adding more features or do both and perhaps slow both sides down if you get my drift.

Can you point me in the right direction? I cannot see the option for firmware backup or auto config backup to USB?

Auto config backup to usb isnt present yet.
Not quite sure what firmware backup is. Not aware of it on my previous drayteks, or do you mean a second copy of firmware on device in case live one goes bad? As I think the 3900 (linux) models only had that.

There's a firmware backup option in the maintenance menu on the 2927. It appears to keep a backup somewhere in the router itself.

There is an option - "If the router unexpectedly reboots three times in a row then the backup firmware will be restored to the unit on the third reboot."

Well I learn something new, not seen that before in previous Drayteks ive owned.
Ive had the auto backup config to usb, but not this.
Thanks for pointing this out. It might be 4.x.x firmware versions as and when (or if) they come about.
