have a draytek 2860n-plus that had really bad speeds, in the end i phoned BT to get a engineer out, and the problem was fixed at the first visit, the engineer got me to flash the firmware to a older one and then he did a reset on the line and everything has been ok since, the engineer did tell me not to change the firmware as the latest ones or beta versions draytek push out, can sometimes keep the router loosing connection and rebooting then the cabinet thinks there are faults and slows the line down, this is me current status

I also experienced long page look up times on some sites after installing a new 2860. I appear to have fixed the problem by turning off hardware acceleration.

Update from me.

Disabling 'Hardware Acceleration' made a massive improvement, but was still getting lots of disconnects, especially after about 4 days.

So, I'm now running the same firmware (3.7.8.3), but now using 573807 rather than 574307.

After a disconnect the first morning about 3AM, then again about two days later at a similar time, the connection has remained stable for 5.5 days so far... Fingers crossed.

Has anyone found a reliable solution for this yet? I have tried various configurations made here so far but It's been an ongoing issue for me now for months and doesn't seem to be getting resolved. The 2860 is more use as a paper weight at the moment than a working solution with BT Infinity.!

Going to try some older firmware versions and see what the outcome is.

Under firewall is the call filter enabled? If so try disabling it.

Please add me to the paperweight list!!

Just moved to Plusnet fibre and upgraded from a 2820 to a 2860 router

Same issue, using the BTOR modem my internet connection is fine. When using the internal modem of the new 2860 the internet is connected but unusable.

Problem is, I need the WAN 2 port for a backup ethernet connection.

Does anyone have a definitive solution to this problem?
