Last night I retested 3.8.2.2 VT3 on my VDSL connection and again saw issues:

2016-03-16 19:11:08 Connected to VDSL line for testing
2016-03-16 20:50:04 Connection dropped on WAN1
2016-03-16 20:51:02 Connection restored (may have been restored before this time but this was when IP traffic was detected)
2016-03-16 21:35:59 Connection dropped on WAN1
2016-03-16 21:39:04 Connection switched back to BT OR modem on WAN2 stable since.

I have submitted my syslogs and DSL status info to the support, I would recommend you do the same. At the weekend I plan to roll back to 3.8.1_VT2 and check that is still stable.

I can't have been reading the advice when I upgraded my 2860n+ to 3.8.2.2_VT3...!

I am using DSL Modem Code: AnnexA_574307_571801 (the alternative choice to 576d17_571801). Sync'd at full 80/20 line speed and hasn't dropped once over the last ~7 days. Granted there are lots of other factors that could cause dropouts, for example I am on quite a short line on a Broadcom chipped cabinet - but it might be worth trying.

I tried 3.8.1_VT2 and still had issues after about 40-50 minutes so I switched to 3.8.2.2_STD after that, it has been stable on my line since Thursday night, about 4 days now. Draytek support have a copy of my router configuration for testing in their lab. Draytek support did have a look at my configuration and suggested that I should clear the "Service Name" fields in the VDSL configuration which I have done but that did not help the stability on the _VTx modem firmware types.

3.8.2.2 vt3 works fine for me on BT infinity 2, the only difference I have noticed is that ping times were previously 8ms but with vt3 I can't get them below 10ms, not a terribly bad problem to have.

I'm having massive issues since upgrading to 3.8.2.2 vector 3 with BT Infinity, I can barely get one packet out every 2 minutes, this is the recommended firmware on the website!

I just see repeated logs in syslog for the WAN connection of "protocol LCP ecoreq identifier 0x03 MagicNumber"

I then see 0x05, 0x06, 0x07, 0x08.

and this repeats add infinitum.

Anyone have any ideas? It says settings aren't preserved if you downgraade the firmware?
